Why Are These Sneakers Worth $4,000,000?

Did you spend too much on shoes this year? Listen, you're not alone. (And we bet you look fabulous.) Collectively, Americans spend a whopping 20 billion dollars a year on shoes—yes, that's billion. And it's no wonder, when a single pair of sneakers can fetch up to four million bucks.

How to Watch

As a "superagent" on Million Dollar Listing New York, Frederik Eklund is no stranger to luxury. So to grab his attention, a pair of sneakers better bring it—and "The Fire Monkey" did. In the latest episode of BravoTV.com's new digital series Ka-Ching! Eklund raves about the shoes he refers to as "beautiful, blue babies." Designed by New-York-based lifestyle brand Bicion and Mache Custom Kicks, the most expensive sneakers in the world go for four million dollars. The kicks are encrusted with white diamonds, blue sapphires, and 18-karat gold. Plus, there's only one pair in the world. So, if you buy them, it's not like you'll run into your BFF wearing the same pair at a party.

The next pair of shoes Eklund's obsessed with, he warns, may bring some "serious heel envy." Ready, then? Okay. In 2002, actress Laura Harring walked the Oscars' red carpet in a pair of Stuart Weitzman heels covered in 464 diamonds. The shoes retailed at one million dollars (a relative bargain, it seems) and were escorted by their own bodyguard. Now excuse us, while we polish off our Chucks.
