Carson Kressley Thinks Men Should "Get a Little Racy" With Awards Season Fashion
Don't play it safe, gentlemen.
The Golden Globes have come and gone, Oscar nominations are out, and the SAG Awards are on Sunday. So, it's official: Awards season is in full swing, and red carpets are serving up fresh trends at breakneck speed. Well, so we hope. No one likes staid awards-show fashion. Especially not Carson Kressley.
The style guru recently popped by Bravo HQ to chat about the upcoming shows. But first, he had to get one thing off his chest. "SAG Awards—is that worst name ever?," he quipped. "I just want to give it a little lift."
Though its name could use a proverbial nip and tuck, Carson did admit that the SAG Awards tend to have dressier fashion than some of the other shows. (This one is, after all, all about movies.) But, that doesn't mean every look should be totally formal and traditional.
When it comes to men's fashion in particular, Carson encourages celebs to play around a bit. He named Justin Timberlake's Golden Globes look as one that really popped. In Tom Ford, Carson said, J.T. "gave a classic just a little bit of zhuzh to make it really fantastic."
