Could You Have Guessed That Courtney Love Designed This Collection?

If you're thinking baby barrettes, think again.

By Jenny Berg

Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso named her autobiography #GirlBoss. But if that doesn't make it clear: she loves a strong female. So, it makes sense that the entrepreneur has teamed up twice with Courtney Love. The duo just collaborated on a second capsule collection, and it's available to buy now. But, before you get too excited about baby barrettes and Docs, know that the line is not quite that. It's better than that.

Dubbed "Love, Courtney by Nasty Gal," the holiday collection comprises 24 pieces. "For this second collection, I I wanted to push my inspiration even further to create the kinds of collectible, vintage-inspired pieces that genuinely reflect my personal vision," Courtney said in a statement. That vision includes plenty of lingerie styles for day, including a wine-red slip dress ($88).

Courtney has an impressive knowledge of fashion history, and looked to the 1920's, '40s, and '70s for inspiration. These Rock City Pants ($398) are the priciest piece in the whole collection. But, just think of the possibilities.

For one, you could top those leather pants with this cozy, leopard-print style ($158). Called the "Electric Factory Coat," this could've been plucked from Edie Sedgwick's wardrobe. Or Courtney Love's, come to think of it...

But, if you really want to belt out Doll Parts in an authentic way, this one's for you. The "Roxy" dress ($128) channels Courtney's classic stage looks. It's made of velvet, and has a lacy Peter-Pan collar that adds to its girlish/ alt-rocker charm. P.S.: There are also Mary Janes, people!

The Astoria bodysuit ($198) can be worn with the lingerie choker ($68)—and/or with fishnets, clearly. Check out the whole collection here. And, stay tuned for more fashion to come from Courtney. The singer told InStyle that working with Nasty Gal has given her the confidence to possibly launch her own line someday!
