Download These 6 Fitness Apps That Help You Train Like a Celeb

Who needs the gym when you have your phone?

By Adele Chapin

We might not have Karlie Kloss's fitness instructor on speed dial, but this has got to be the next best thing. Kloss's favorite dance cardio coach is just one fitness star who's jumped on the workout app bandwagon. Now you can get in a calorie-blasting session wherever you are, since all you need is a smart phone. We rounded up six cool workout apps to download from both Instagram fitness stars, celeb personal trainers, and mega-famous athletes themselves. Warning: It's going to be harder to find an excuse for not working out, since your phone is definitely with you 24/7.

AKT On Demand

Want to try out Karlie Kloss’s favorite dance cardio class for free? Now’s the time: celeb trainer and AKT InMotion founder Anna Kaiser is offering three gratis workout videos right now to celebrate the launch of her new, really cute activewear collab with Target. With Anna's app, you can use your iPhone, iPad, or Android device to watch 150 AKT workout videos anywhere, even without wifi. You can also tap into a la carte offerings like live private training or Skype sessions with a nutritionist.

Blogilates

YouTube star Cassey Ho has over 3 million subscribers for her Pilates videos, which have names like “BRUTAL BOOTY At-Home Pilates Butt Workout” and “Quick Burn SADDLEBAGS Slimdown.” If that level of intensity intrigues you, Ho’s free smartphone app is worth a download. The Blogilates app connects you with Ho’s YouTube videos, her recipes and cooking demos, with a forum for Bogilates fans. That’s all free, but you can also make in-app purchases on features like exclusive videos or workout calendar recommendations.

Sweat With Kayla

If you’ve scrolled through Instagram, you’ve probably come across the #bbg tag. Insta star Kayla Itsines’s Bikini Body Guide program is a social media monster, with followers posting their impressive before-and-after pictures from Kayla’s 12-week program. Her Sweat With Kayla app offers 28-minute full-body workouts and nutrition advice, for $19.99 a month.

The Body Foundation

Ashley Borden is the woman responsible for Ryan Gosling’s abs. Enough said. This celebrity trainer’s “6 Weeks to Sculpted” program is available as an Apple TV app, or you can stream her workouts from your iPhone, iPad, Roku, AirPlay, and Chromecast. The 43-video program is $24.99, with different workouts for 6 days a week. She also offers her new "The Body Foundation" video series for the same price. That program includes cardio intervals, ab workouts, and strength training.

Nike+ Training Club

Nike stacked the deck with stars and athletes to lead workout routines for its free, easy-to-use Nike+ Training Club app. So if you want to know what yoga moves singer Ellie Goulding recommends for runners, or how gymnast Gabby Douglas works out her core, this is the app to download.

FitStar Yoga

FitBit’s personal training app Fitstar also offers a yoga version, led by former model and Strala Yoga founder Tara Stiles. Some sessions on the app are free and can be accessed over and over, while others are locked for premium members. You can tell the app your skill level, in order to get workouts tailored for where you are in your yoga practice.
