Erika Girardi is Not a Fan of the Choker Trend
There's only so far the #RHOBH singer will go for nostalgia.
With fall around the corner, it's time to swap sarongs for sweaters--and find some new boots to replace those strappy sandals. So, when we had the chance to chat with Erika Girardi before a performance in Chicago, we were eager to get some seasonal style inspiration from the #RHOBH stunner. (Her skin, by the way, looks even more perfect in person.)
Erika-- who filled her hotel suite with deliciously scented Diptyque candles--isn't necessarily one to follow trends. "I like to see what everyone's doing," she said. "Obviously, I dress by what works best for me, and what I prefer. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not inspired by what other people are putting out." She's particularly keen on designers like Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, and Gucci-- or, as she calls them, "the people who like women's bodies."
And while Erika keeps her finger on the pulse of what's hot, there's only so far she'll go to relive the decade of Dr. Martens and black lipstick. "I went through the ‘90s," she said. "I was in my young twenties in the ‘90s, and I think [the trend] is great. But, I’m not going to wear a choker. I’m 45; I’m not going to draw attention to my neck."
