Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Spears Family Beauty Secrets

The Spears girls are having a resurgence of their popularity, and that's exciting for everyone who lived happily through the late early 2000s. Jamie Lynn Spears, the country music singer/songwriter, mom, and little sister of Britney, is opening up exclusively to Lookbook about just what makes the Spears family stage-ready.

"Our mother always cleaned her face and moisturized her skin every night—no matter what," Jamie Lynn shared with Lookbook. "She instilled that taking care of your skin is what keeps you glowing. Beauty trends come and go, but beautiful skin is timeless." The 25 year old mom also spilled that she cannot get enough dry shampoo, because who has time or energy for a full wash every day? "I'm obsessed with dry shampoo—it's a real life saver."

Dry shampoo is a Spears family fave, and Britney is a reported lover of the spray-on variety, too. Looks like beauty addictions may just be genetic!

Jamie Lynn also admits that all the makeup artist instagrammers are moving pretty fast. It's all sort of intimidating for the Spears ladies (and honestly, for the rest of us humans), "but I learned the highlighting trick when I was very young from a makeup artist and still do that," she says. Just add shimmer is basically the Jamie Lynn and Britney family anthem, from the looks of it, and we're not opposed.

"When I was growing up I always admired Britney's originality when it came to beauty," Jamie Lynn says. But when it came to fashion, sometimes little sister inspired big. "I went on a stage when I was younger where I wore baggy boyfriend jeans and tank tops—I remember [Britney] loved that and wore the same kinda thing several times, ha! Not our best outfits!"

This fall, Jamie Lynn is on the hunt for the perfect pair of velvet boots, as well as a chic jacket she can toss over everything. And when it comes to the rampant '90s trends, there are some she's willing to try, such as short dresses paired with shirts and chunky boots. But, she's careful not to let trends dictate her every move. "No matter what anyone else says, if you don't feel confident in what you're wearing, then you're not gonna wear it the way it should be worn," she says. "Dress for yourself." She does admit, however, that there's one Bravoleb's closet she'd love to raid: "Erika Giradi. Duh."

When asked about her tips for every normal, non-Spears gal of the world to feel super stage-levels of beautiful, she quickly replied, "Rodan and Fields eye cream. It's magic." (The girls likely get the product from their mom, a skincare consultant for the brand.) "Working out and diet are everything," Jamie Lynn adds, "there is no cream or injection that can beat a healthy lifestyle."
