Exclusive! Melissa Gorga Dishes on Fall Fashion—and Raising Mini Fashionistas

These days, Melissa Gorga spends the fall season styling clients at her boutique Envy— "I always tell them less is more"— she says, and adding a few new pieces to her own enviable wardrobe. "Every year it's the same: It's always about the fall boot and the fall bag," says the #RHONJ beauty. "For bags right now, I love Saint Laurent. And for boots, I don't discriminate! I love them all. I have so many great boots, from Stuart Weitzman all the way up to my Chanel. I love boots, and I love bags."

Fall also means back-to-school shopping, and Melissa remembers the thrill of hitting Kids R Us with her parents at the beginning of each new year. "Kids R Us used to have all the cool clothes for fall," she recalls. "Back then, my mother and I had to go up to my father and ask for a couple hundred dollars, which was a lot of money! Then, we'd go and get school clothes." Melissa had an eye for detail even at a young age, and remembers a particular wardrobe malfunction that took place during picture day. "My mother put me in the same red dress two years in a row," she laughs. "I remember seeing the pictures on picture day, saying: Mom! How did you put me in the same dress two years in a row? I look exactly the same! That was so upsetting." 

Melissa's own children show a similar affinity for fashion. Not only will they return to the runway at New York Fashion Week this year—the young Gorgas will model in a show for Nike, Converse, and Jordan on September 8—but they all have their own unique sense of style. "It's amazing to me how in tune they are with clothes," say the proud mom. "They love it; they love to look nice. It's kind of cute. My boys are into sneakers, and they love shoes. Gino's actually the most meticulous when it comes to clothes. Everything has to be perfect. And Antonia is such a girly girl."

Though she experiments freely with accessories, Melissa is less apt to change up her signature scent when fall rolls around. "I've been wearing the same perfume for 15 years, which is Angel. I'm addicted to it, and I'm known for the smell," she says. "So, I can't bring myself to spray anything else." And though she has her signature style— and scent—down pat, there is one celebrity whose closet Melissa wouldn't mind raiding. "I love everything that Khloe Kardashian wears," she says.
