Larry Sims and Gabrielle Union Are #FriendshipGoals

2017 has proven to be on super busy year for Gabrielle Union. Along with the season four premiere of her hit show Being Mary Jane, her upcoming book We’re Going to Need More Wine, and the recent launch of her hair line Flawless, we’ve also learned that the actress is releasing her first fashion line.

Gabrielle has teamed up with New York & Co. to design not one but multiple capsule collections of affordable attire. She also currently serves as the face of the brand’s 7th Avenue Design Studio collection.

“I wanted to offer on-trend fashion at affordable prices. That’s the bottom line,” she told WWD, explaining how fans would often ask about outfits she posted to social media, which were oftentimes frightfully expensive.

Walking into the weekend like... #nyandcompany

With New York & Co. giving Gabrielle full control of her namesake line, she decided to model her first collection after her character Mary Jane. “She’s a fierce leader, she loves a statement piece, she brings a lot of flair to the workplace,” Union told WWD. “I wanted that leadership element of my character to jump out. You see a lot of great sheath dresses in materials that are incredibly flattering and helpful.”

Aside from its chic styles, Gabrielle also wanted to make sure her clothes came in complementary fabrics, which will all be available in sizes 0-20 and XS to XXL. And, Gabrielle vows to make the clothes shine on your own social media account. “The goal is every outfit is Instagrammable,” she told WWD.

The first wave if her collection will be available online at nyandcompany.com and in-stores August 16, followed by a second wave on August 31. Just in time to build up your fall wardrobe.
