How to Accessorize Like a 'Hamilton' Superfan
Whether you're with Burr or Hamilton.
This won't come as a spoiler: Hamilton swept the Tony Awards last night. (We know. Duh.) But along with nabbing 11 coveted trophies, the hip-hop musical inspired the coolest accessory of the night.
Bee Shaffer, Anna Wintour's daughter and Hamilton superfan, carried an Edie Parker clutch customized with a shout-out to two of the play's characters: Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. On one side, the bag read: A. Ham; on the other side, it spelled out: A. Burr. "I'm not picking sides tonight," Bee wrote beneath a photo of the pearly clutch, which she paired with a floral Erdem dress.
Though Bee remained neutral, she knew just which side of the bag to display when posing with Leslie Odom, Jr. (Hint: he plays Aaron Burr on Broadway.)
Bee wasn't the only one to carry the clutch. Vanessa Nadal, wife of Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda, also toted the hot accessory. Since Vanessa's husband plays the role of Hamilton, guess which side of the bag she displayed?
The clutches are a part of Edie Parker's bespoke line, and you can make your own for about $1,800. May we also suggest making one that reads Cary on one Side, and LeeAnne on the other?
