Landon Clements is So Over This Fall Fashion Trend
"Kate Moss and I already did it—show me something new."
The Southern Charm girls don't only have wit—they have some impeccable style. On the heels of chatting with her pal Cameran Eubanks about all things fall fashion, we asked Landon Clements to answer the same questions for us. She spilled which new fragrance might make her put down her beloved Chanel, and what carries her through Charleston's hurricane season. But if you want to know where she finds her famous statement earrings, you'll want to make sure your passport is current.
What back-to-school outfit will you never forget from your childhood?
I had to wear a uniform to school when I was very little. I remember the first time I got to go back-to-school shopping it was a feeling of excitement I had never felt before. Getting to roam the mall with a pocket full of cash—I mean, I had never felt so grown up! I don’t remember my exact outfit, but I do recall trying it on a dozen times before the actual first day of school. It was a big right of passage for me and that feeling of excitement stuck with me. Every year when the mercury drops, I get anxious to replenish my wardrobe.
What's the wardrobe essential you change up every fall?
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of boots, a fresh pair of jeans, and killer leather jacket.
What fall fashion shows were you most excited to see?
Chanel its always the best show. They have gotten so clever with their set designs and show locations. I am always curious to see how they will top themselves. I also love the younger hip labels like Public School—those guys are so cool. And I love Cynthia Rowley. She is my surfer-chic go to, and her shop in Charleston is one of my favorites.
What's your signature fall fragrance?
Chanel Noir—but I just tried Tom Ford’s Black Orchid and I might have to change it up this season.
What makeup colors do you gravitate toward for fall?
I am not a huge makeup person, but I do love a fresh mascara and a bold lip for fall.
The '90s look is still superhot: will you try any of the trends?
My mother told me you only wear a decade once. This was her reply when I asked her why she didn’t want bell-bottoms in the 90’s when I was wearing them. I guess I feel the same about a slip dress with a t-shirt underneath, with a choker. Kate Moss and I already did that—show me something new.
What's the piece of style advice you give most often?
Be comfortable.
Which celebrity, or Bravolebrity's, closet would you love to raid?
Is it ok to still be in love with Sienna Miller? I just love the boho chic I’ll wear it until I die.
Where do you get your awesome statement earrings?
All over the world. Little markets when I travel, or from our ladies we work with through Ibu. I also love estate sales. My style is basically really simple clothing pieces with fun accents. Anything that has a story I cherish.
