Mark Your Calendar for 2017's Most Anticipated Fashion Collabs
Victoria Beckham clothes at Target prices, folks
2016 might not have been the most exciting year for designer collaborations. Heck, H&M’s fall collab with Kenzo didn’t even sell out. Contrast that to 2015, when shoppers were bombarding stores for H&M x Balmain and crashing Target’s website for discounted Lilly Pulitzer. But, we always love getting something designer with a chain-store price tag, and things are looking up for 2017. Here’s a rundown of fashion collabs to mark on your calendar.
VB X Target
Victoria Beckham makes some beautiful things, but they do not come cheap. So if you’re not ready to shell out for her $900 turtlenecks and $3,195 Italian-made tote bags, make a mental note of this date: April 9. That’s when the 200-piece Victoria Beckham for Target collection lands in all Target stores and Target.com. Prices will start at just $6, most items will be under $40 and nothing will cost more than $70. The collab will be available in a wide range of sizes, from XS-3X. Another thing to get excited about? This marks the first time Victoria’s designing clothes for kids, with items for girls, toddlers and babies.
Adidas Originals by Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang is no stranger to collabs. He had a much-hyped collection for H&M in 2014. Wang’s back for another round in 2017, this time with Adidas. According to Elle, the entire 84-piece unisex Adidas Originals by Alexander Wang collection will be available in the spring via Adidas’s stores and website, and at select retailers. You might get it before then, though. Adidas has been selling a few pieces across the globe from fashion trucks.
Tommy x Gigi
Love Gigi Hadid’s nautical-themed collab with Tommy Hilfiger? The fall collection was such a hit that the brand is extending Tommy x Gigi for Spring 2017. How are they going to top the extravaganza that was the fashion show, 40-foot-tall Ferris wheel and all?
Chrome Hearts x Bella
Gigi isn’t the only designer in the family. Her sister Bella just teased her new collab on Instagram, a collection with biker-chic brand Chromes Heart with a TBD release date.
Fenty x Puma
The world’s already gotten a peek at Rihanna’s latest collection with Puma, at Paris Fashion Week no less. The look? RiRi describes it as "If Marie Antoinette were going to the gym and needed something to wear." Bien sur! Here’s hoping there’s another hit like her furry shower slide in the mix.
Alber Elbaz x Converse
Lanvin’s longtime designer Alber Elbaz’s work is sorely missed, but he might have something up his sleeve. Fashion publication WWD reports that Elbaz is collaborating with Converse on a collection that’s said to be out early 2017.
Betty and Veronica by Rachel Antonoff
Dressing like a cartoon never looked so good. New York City designer Rachel Antonoff specializes in whimsy, and she’s been tasked with bringing the classic comic strip Betty and Veronica to the runway. The collection ships in February, and you can pre-order and see all the pieces now.
