It's been a busy year for Natalie Portman, who is currently starring as Jackie Kennedy in the biopic Jackie and is about to become a mom for the second time. With the help of her dear Dior, she revealed her sophomore surprise at the premiere of her movie Planetarium at the Venice Film Festival in September; her first son, Aleph, is five. Both bumps have been impeccably dressed in elegant and often whimsical creations, as seen in these all-time favorite looks:
Natalie and Aleph hit the town in a one-shouldered Gianfranco Ferre gown at the Critics' Movie Choice Awards in 2011. The light and airy style just floated down the red carpet.
The expectant mother wore another black-and-white dress—this one by French couture house Vionnet—for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The look was set off by a gold sequined collar and gold cuffs. Look at those stunning heels!
Dutch designers Viktor and Rolf gave her a pretty gown with a rose in bloom and exceptional draping for the Golden Globes. Going strapless with a baby on board can be tricky, but this mama can easily pull it off.
Rodarte is one of Natalie's favorites — the American fashion house has outfitted her in many a red carpet look and even designed her wedding dress. This purple dazzler was the perfect choice for the Academy Awards.
The debut of baby number two happened in Dior on the Planetarium red carpet at the Venice Film Festival, a look not miles away from how she started showing off her bump in 2011.
A flouncy RED Valentino dress (also at the Venice Film Fest) has plenty of birds on it. Where's the stork though?
She wore a beaded flower confection from Prada for the Toronto Film Festival. The dress really accentuates her soft, maternal glow.
Natalie wore Dior's impossibly lovely "Le Soleil" dress to a screening of Jackie. The whimsical gown has an empire waist, jeweled details, and a smiling, embroidered sun. With a few more months to go before the baby comes, it will be fun to see what the glowing mom wears next.
