Hairstylist Johnny Wright spent eight years tending to Michelle Obama's tresses, making sure she always looked flawless. Now that his time in the White House is up, he's looking for new clients and you could be one of them. Really!
Wright, who just made a big move to Los Angeles from D.C. and is setting up shop with a chair at Salon Kazumi in Beverly Hills, sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to chat about what's next for him. He explained that he'll be in D.C. a couple of days a week (when he's not cutting Tamron Hall, Queen Latifah, Samira Wiley or Kerry Washington's hair). Wright is taking appointments right now, so call to book a cut if you want a bit of Obama's First Lady fabulousness.
Here's a glimpse of the Wright's new salon, which seems so calming and zen:
An appointment with Wright definitely is an investment — it's $425 just for a haircut — but he says that he focuses on cuts that grow out well so you don't have to come back often. "Women want to look rich and expensive and polished and that’s what I offer," he said. It's like he knows us!
