People Are Repulsed By This Bizarre Lipstick Trend
We need to discuss Lollipop Lips.
Perez Hilton is not having this. "Stop Trying To Make Lollipop Lips Happen—It's NOT Going To Happen!" was the headline of one of his latest posts. And, we can't totally argue with him on that. Is it us, or does this look like someone tried to put makeup after popping a couple sleeping pills?
Basically, "lollipop lip" technique—credited to MAC Cosmetics—means applying bright lipstick, then smudging it slightly around the lines of your lips. The effect, you see, should make it look like you just feasted on a berry-bright lollipop.
But, Perez says the smeared lipstick will actually make it look "like you just made out with a vacuum cleaner." (The sentiment was echoed on Twitter.) And, the feisty blogger isn't the only dissenter.
Just take a peek at some of the comments this questionable trend has inspired:
Lol at the Buffy reference. To be fair, though, some designers see things differently. The fresh trend even made its way onto the runway for Preen by Thorton Bregazzi at London Fashion Week.
Huh.
