This Bath Towel Is Changing My Entire Shower Experience
Showering will never be the same again.
I’ve never spent too much time thinking about my bath linens. My bed linens? Yes, because, ya know, we spend half our lives in bed. But bathroom towels? Not so much. For the past five years I’ve relied on a set I bought at my most hallowed brick-and-mortar store — Home Goods, obvi — and they’re … well, they’re fine. Cute pattern? Check. Able to dry me off post-shower? Check. Really, those are my only requirements.
When a new towel — nay, “bath sheet” — arrived in my sample bin, I didn’t do a backflip. Because, to reiterate, I simply don’t have much emotional investment when it comes bath linens. Of course, I was up for trying the product out, but my expectations were low — I mean, how great can a towel really be?
So, I brought my new Parachute bath sheet upstairs later that night, hopped in the shower, did my thing, hopped out and HOLY MOLY, my mind was blown. This gigantic towel was the best thing I’d ever wrapped my body in post-cleanse. Softer-than-soft (and did I mention the sheet size is humongous?), this experience was akin to the bath towels at the most expensive hotel I’ve ever stayed at (on my honeymoon, of course). If towels were celebrities, Parachute’s bath sheet would for reals have an EGOT. This is the truth.
So, what makes it’s so awesome? Well, for one, Parachute is based in Venice Beach, California and that sort of makes everything they produce just really freaking cool, right? Right. Okay, so now for some actual facts. The towels are crafted from 100% Turkish cotton, which is, apparently, the industry standard for being the best. Secondly, the cotton’s weight — measured in grams per square meter — is 700, which is 5-star hotel quality. Lastly, these puppies are plush, plush, plush, BUT, wait for it … fast-drying. Because nothing’s worse than a using a towel at 8 a.m. only to find it still damp at 8 p.m. One more important factoid: All Parachute products are Oeko-Tex certified, meaning they are free of synthetics and chemicals.
Parachute’s towels start at $29 each for the classic size and go up to a very reasonable $49 for the 40- by 70-inch sheet sizes. For the quality, this is the best deal you’re ever going to get on bath towels. Trust me when I say you need these babies in your bathroom—even if, like me a few days ago, you don’t think you do.
