These Bravolebrities Have Unforgettable Derby-Day Style
Bravolebs, hats off to you.
On Saturday, you can score some major bucks by betting on the right horse—or just enjoy the mint juleps and winning millinery. When it comes to the latter, Bravolebrities are a particularly talented (and inventive) bunch. Some go for all-out glam, while others add some “bathroom humor” to their hats. Let’s take a look back.
1. Bethenny Frankel
Our favorite Skinny Girl's style sure has evolved over the years (this was 2009, guys.) But, one thing's remained constant: Frankel loves a good Derby party. When it comes to choosing a hat, she told the NY Daily News: "Creativity is important. I tend to like wide brims, and big hats." P.S: If you're in the Yonkers area, you can see Bethenny's 2016 hat IRL-- she's hosting a party at Empire City Casino.
2. Lizzie Rovsek
The Real Housewives of Orange County beauty is actually a Kentucky native. She went full-on pinup for the 2014 Derby, pairing her feathered hat with a curve-hugging, polka-dot dress and peep-toe shoes. Going home again never looked so good.
3. Brandi Redmond
It was the "poop hat" heard 'round the world. Well, heard 'round Dallas's glitzy Mad Hatter's Ball, at least. The former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader decorated her own hat for the fund-raiser, choosing a look that incorporated toilet paper and—no glamorous way of saying this—fake turds. Okay, so it's technically not a Derby look. But we'd say it qualifies as one unforgettable hat.
4. Tiffany Hendra, Marie Reyes, and LeeAnne Locken
In contrast, this is what the other Dallas ladies wore to the benefit. Check out LeeAnne's custom-made rose hat, which we wore in honor of the "Springtime in Paris" theme. As it happens, Locken is also hosting a Derby Day party this year; hers is at Lone Star Park in Texas.
5. Tamra Judge
The ladies of Orange County enjoy a good horse race as much as everyone else. And while all the ladies got festive for a Derby-Day outing, Tamra's cherry-red chapeau was the standout.
