Scarlett Johansson Is Considering Running for Office Some Day
Will you be seeing the actress in the Oval Office down the road?
Now that Donald Trump is president, Democrats have been responding by spinning through their Rolodex to see what high profile, openly liberal names they could try throwing into the election ring — and reporters love it. CBS News reports that Scarlett Johansson was asked about her political aspirations during an interview with Michael Strahan. Scarlett was seen marching and speaking at the Women’s March in January, so she’s obviously not afraid to say what she thinks or express her political allegiance.
“I’ve always been interested in local politics,” Scarlett told Michael. “Right now I think with my young daughter, and also as my career is going right now, it’s not the right time.”
She continued, “But eventually, maybe if my daughter was older and I could totally focus myself on something like that, I think it could be interesting.”
Okay, so you’ll have to wait to put Scarlett’s name in the ballot box, but it's not impossible that you will see her looking very bored at a Los Angeles city council meeting some day. Actual politicians out there are going to have some stiff competition if every single Avenger tries for a seat.
Until she runs, you can enjoy her closest brush with the presidency so far — doing a dead-on impression of Ivanka Trump.
