Watch Out, Two-Buck Chuck! This Retail Giant Will Soon Start Selling Its Own $5 Wines
The California Roots line hits stores next week.
So you thought Trader Joe's Two-Buck Chuck (aka Charles Shaw wine) was a good deal? (And by the way, a bottle can actually cost up to almost $4, depending on where you live.) Well, Target is now getting into the wine game, launching its own exclusive brand of wines starting September 3.
Called California Roots, the line include five wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a red blend. It's the first time the big box giant is selling its own alcohol that's exclusive to the store.
“We’re out to give our guests even more reasons to love Target—including exclusive products they can’t find anywhere else,” said Jeff Burt, senior vice president of food and beverage, in a statement on Target's website. “And we think they’re going to love California Roots—these wines are just the right blend of incredible quality and amazing value that guests can only get at Target.”
Target already has a loyal following, so we can only imagine that fans will snap up this bargain-priced booze when it hits the shelves.
