Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif's Top 6 Tips on Plastic Surgery

You don't want your forehead to look like "an oily bowling ball."

By Jenny Berg

The new season of Botched premiered with a bang this week. Though they're busy with work —you know, like removing cement injections—the series' stars stopped by the Allure offices to answer questions for a Facebook Live interview. You can catch the whole 19 minutes of cosmetic-procedure wisdom below, but here are a few main takeaways if you're short on time (like, in a cab headed to a doctor's office, say.)

1. An Upper Eyelid Lift Shaves Off Years

When asked which procedures will make an "aging person" feel fab, Paul quickly recommended an eyelid lift, and a face lift. Terry agreed that a face lift is "the number one operation that turns back the clock," and recommends doing it early (like, early 40s early.)

2. Preventative Botox is a Thing

It used to be that people waited till they started to age (those pesky early 40s) before they went for the fillers. These days, people start younger. Terry's own assistant got Botox in her early 20s, and—he swore—she never even devloped wrinkles in her forehead. Both docs admit that early 20s is a little young to get started with Botox... maybe early 30s is best.

3. Make Sure Your Doctor Has a Hospital Credential

If you're looking to weed out shady "doctor's" offices (and you should be), make sure the doctor you're planning to visit has a board-cerftified hospital credential. If the doc isn't allowed to perform a surgery in a hospital, Terry said, walk away.

4. Think Twice Before Getting a Tummy Tuck

According to Terry, the riskiest procedure for the body is a tummy tuck. There's a possibility of blood clot, or "something going wrong," he warned.

5. Too Much Botox is... Too Much

The doctors agree that the biggest mistake one can make with the perennially popular filler is simply adding too much of it. Too much in the forehead, Paul said, can make your eyelids drop. Or, Terry added, you could make your forehead look like an "oily bowling ball." Ew (and accurate.)

6. The Future of Cosmetic Surgery Is...No Surgery

Topical Botox? Non-invasive tummy tucks? Non-surgical nose jobs? We're waiting. But if you really want to see what's next, Terry said, ask Kylie Jenner. Apparently, the social media star has inspired a slew of cosmetic trends. Check out the rest of the interview, here.
