You *Have* to See This Beyoncé-Inspired Prom Dress
This versatile look goes from Met Gala to prom.
Beyoncé always makes a statement at the Met Gala, but her 2015 look—you know, the nude Givenchy with crystals placed just so—made a lasting impression on one St. Louis teen. Mashable and several other outlets shared photos posted by a one Ms. India Ross, whose prom dress saluted her style icon.
Ross knew that she needed something sparkling and nude after seeing Bey's famous look. So, she tapped a local designer, Toi Hall, to create a similar style. The pair spent months crafting a bejeweled gown.
The look ultimately went for $800, but that's a small price to pay for going viral. The 18-year-old landed an interview in US Weekly, and remarked: "I never thought that taking pictures at my prom would just blow up overnight."
But, on her own Instagram page Ross made one thing known. "Let's make this clear I do not think I'm Beyoncé but she's my inspiration [...] I still look so god damn fine in my Walmart," she wrote in an Instagram caption. In summation: Ross doesn't always wear $800 dresses. But when she does, she slays.
