Vanessa Hudgens Lost 20 Pounds Doing Two-a-Days of This Common Workout

This fitness routine would get expensive.

We feel pretty virtuous in our fitness routine when we get to SoulCycle once a week. That's nothing compared with Vanessa Hudgens's SoulCycle addiction. The High School Musical star revealed to Women’s Health that she lost the 20 pounds she put on for her role in Gimmee Shelter by going to two (yes, two!) SoulCycle classes a day. "Put me on a bike in a room with loud music, and I'm happy," she told the magazine. "It's like dancing without the stress of worrying if you look good."

OK, major, major props to Vanessa. One SoulCycle class is draining enough, and that second one would be extra killer. On the other hand, this is a straightforward weight-loss routine, provided you have the time and money. Just show up, strap on indoor cycling shoes and get amazing results—as Vanessa's Women’s Health cover illustrates.

Let's talk numbers for this fitness routine. One 45-minute SoulCycle class burns 500 to 700 calories at a minimum, according to Byrdie. So Vanessa's two-a-day SoulCycle habit burned up to 1,400 a day. Whoa!

The dollar amount on this workout would add up too, since each SoulCycle class in LA is $30 a pop. That's $60 a day and about $1,440 a month, assuming Vanessa took one rest day a week, which we hope she did. We're not sure if we can drop that kind of cash, but Vanessa's definitely inspiring us to hop on a bike more often.

Her other health and fitness tips involve going to yoga, Pilates, and circuit training and she loves group exercise classes in general. She also advocates eating avocados often, which is one tip we can really get behind.
