You Need to See Gigi Hadid Wearing Her Mother's Dress to Prom

In a revealing new interview with W magazine, Gigi Hadid shares the stellar career advice she got from her mother Yolanda. "When you start working," the RHOBH mother said, "you better be the most hardworking, nicest person in the room because if you’re not, then there’s always going to be someone prettier, nicer, and more hardworking."

Gigi's mother also helped her in the style department, and let her daughter rummage through her amazing closet when she needed to pull something special. Though Gigi says she never bought anything designer until she started working, her mother did gift her with a vintage Prada bag when she was 18 years old. And when it came time to look for prom dresses, Gigi knew just whom to borrow from.

"I never bought anything for prom," the model recalled. "My senior year, I wore a red Herve Leger dress. Not the normal bandage, it was the one where they had the short sleeves and a beautiful braided neckline and stuff. I loved it. It was red—bright red—and short. In Malibu, we wear short dresses to prom because we live at the beach."

Judging from the throwback pic above, Gigi will miss out on one time-honored tradition: cringing at her old prom photos. But we're sure she can handle the FOMO on this one.
