Cameron: "Glamour Doesn't Wear a Watch"
Cameron Silver thinks everyone can learn a little something from Dita von Teese.
Tonight's episode was extra glam because I was able to take you into the phenomenal closet of Dita von Teese. Dita is the ultimate Decades woman. Quite frankly, she is the ultimate woman... period! She is glamour 24-7 and understands there is no excuse to not be your very best. I have known Dita for a decade; and in a world where casual has turned into schlep, she never ceases to inspire me with her impeccable elegance.
When Decades first opened in 1997, I sent a mailing out with the headline "GET A LOOK" because I wanted the store to be a resource for individuals to make their fashion mark. Dita has made her mark in fashion (and in many other categories, too). I love that 16 years since opening our fabled doors, Decades is still a resource to "GET A LOOK," and if Dita represents my ultimate muse, I do hope her aspirational chic fairy dust just might rub off on every viewer tonight. OK, I am not suggesting you need to be as coiffed for your Pilates session as Dita always is, but don't be afraid to put a little glamour into your everyday life.
I firmly believe you should live your life as if you are walking on a red carpet. It doesn't mean you need to be wearing a corseted gown or tail tux, just have a little extra confidence and zip in your step everyday because your internal diva/divo will draw people to you. You may not end up walking the runway of a Gaultier Couture show as Dita has famously done, but when you "GET A LOOK" people will remember you.
Glamour doesn't wear a watch. In a world where everything is documented via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., you never know when you need to be ready for your close-up. Smile -- you're on candid Cameron camera.
Life is a reality show. Dita von Teese makes real into the stuff of fantasies.
