Hey, You Never Know...
Episode 9: Bravotv.com's Assistant Editor counts down this week's top three moments.
No. 3 Scratch On, Scratch Off
Watching Jenni scratch off lottery tickets may be my new favorite thing. Why you ask? Because somehow she manages to make it ridiculously exciting. No wonder Jeff has become addicted to buying lottery tickets. I'm not even convinced that it has to do (so much) with the desire to win big, I think it has more to do with the thrill of hearing Jenni call out how many diamonds she's got on the card so far. Winning ten bucks you might think, meh. But if Jenni tells you that you've won ten dollars, it sounds more like you've won ten thousand dollars.
No. 2 Forget You
Vocabulary lessons with Zoila are one of my favorite things about Flipping Out. After all of her years with Jeff Lewis, that woman probably knows more curse words than a seasoned sailor. When Jeff goes off about Randy and calls him a "f--- a--" Zoila of course has a field day and starts slinging the phrase around to everyone's delight. Seriously I think JLD would probably explode into confetti composed of paint samples without Zoila's comic relief.
No. 1 #Winning
The most gratifying scene of the episode by far was when Jeff reveals his new business plan -- winning the lottery and firing everyone -- followed by a united front of everyone just sassing Jeff right back. Evidently Jeff doesn't even know where the grocery store is, so everyone seemed pretty skeptical that he could survive on his own. The litany of mock questions that followed was truly amazing:
How do I get skid marks out of underwear, could you please help me?
How do I send an email, Gage?
I need to add a contact to my phone.
How do I charge my phone?
Something tells me Jeff's staff isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Next week we find out what Jenni's fate is at JLD. Will the dynamic duo actually part ways?
