All the Details on Delia's Wedding Dress

Tonight was the night we finally got to see Delia's wedding dress revealed. It was gorgeous, it was detailed, and it was so...Delia! Believe it or not, Costume Designer Cynthia Summers had a completely different dress in mind when she started brainstorming around the Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce wedding.

"I came up with some ideas and some silhouettes that I thought would work really well for Delia given the silhouettes that she wears every day. And although [show creator] Marti [Noxon] loved them and our character loved them, there was a special need that the dress required at the very end, so we had to sort of shift gears."

So what was the original dress Summers had in mind? "We had to go from a very streamlined 1930s, really beautiful, elegant, mermaid-ish sort of dress that was all gorgeous and beaded, to a very big, more traditional, kind of fluffy dress," says Summers.

The dress Delia ended up with is by Turkish designer Tarik Ediz. "I found it in Vancouver. There’s a bridal row in Vancouver and there’s just…I don’t know how many bridal stores there are, so we did them all, and I found an amazing dress," says Summers. "It’s just beautiful. It’s layers and layers and layers of tulle and lace, and the bodice is tiny, tiny, tiny, which really fits her. So that was a journey, going from my idea, and I can say that’s one thing that happened where I had an idea, and it was a complete 360 and wound up being something else…but happily so."
