I Found the Best One-Stop Shop for All Your Bedding Needs

Desperate for a new mattress? And duvet? And pillows and sheets and quilts? We’ve got you covered.

Ah, sleep. Truly, is there anything better than a good night’s sleep? Or anything worse than a bad night’s sleep? Whether we realize it or not, the outcome of our daily experiences are directly based on whether we’re getting not just good sleep, but superior sleep every night. And while there are a lot of gadgets out there that can help you sleep better (Sound machines! Humidifiers! Ear plugs!), your mattress and bedding and pillows are the core items you need to get the job done.

And I’m here to tell you that I’ve found the best retailer EVER for all your mattress and bedding needs. A one-stop shop, people! Because who’s got the time (or the energy) to cherry pick items from multiple vendors? Not me. Sure, you could order a random pair of well-reviewed sheets from Amazon, but they might be scratchy. Or you could splurge and spend a fortune on a fancy designer label, but you’ll be annoyed when they aren’t worth their triple-digit price tag.

Or you can just listen to me and head to Parachute and fill yo’ cart up to the brim with their necessities, all of which are fairly-priced, thoughtfully-designed and deliver on their promise of better-quality sleep. If you’ve got an empty guest room that needs everything, this is the soup-to-nuts e-tailer for you.

First up: The Mattress. New to the market, Parachute’s mattress debuted earlier this year and stands out from the sea of other mattresses-in-a-box for multiple reasons. For one, there’s no foam… which is groundbreaking considering that this is the direction the mattress industry is headed in! The Parachute mattress is instead comprised of 100% organic cotton, pure New Zealand wool and coils, and it’s chemical-free, comprised of totally eco-friendly and sustainable materials. Oh, and the mattress itself is a stunner. Like, you almost don’t want to cover it up with linens. My favorite part, however is that it is made in the good ol’ U.S.A. (South Carolina to be exact) by fourth-generation manufacturers who know a thing or two about how to craft the perfect mattress. How’s the sleep, you ask? In a word: Dreamy! Equal parts firm and plush, supportive and super-duper comfy. (Guys, I speak in only the most technical of terms, lol.)

There is some science behind the design, though, specifically in how the coils are positioned – located in the top and bottom horizontal “zones” of the bed, the soft coils provide pressure point relief to your shoulders and legs, allowing them to sink into the mattress, whereas firmer coils in the midsection reinforce your hips and back. And I can attest that there’s proof in the Parachute pudding — my sleeps on The Mattress have been elevated, deeper and generally superior to my past snoozefests.

Okay, now that we’ve got you a mattress, let’s focus on the next task: Linens. Shopping for bedding is, well, awful. So many similar-looking options, such varying price points — who has time to research the hell out of it? I’m going to make things easy for you here. While all of the sheets at Parachute are exceptional, I’m partial to the Sateen stunners. Soft as butter with a luxurious sheen to them, the sateen set is comprised of Egyptian cotton and comes with a fitted sheet and two pillowcases (all of which wash and dry beautifully) in a variety of natural hues that are oh-so-soothing to my eyes. And they fit the mattress beautifully. Oh, and the pillowcases feature a back-envelope closure that I’m obsessed with.

Mattress? Check. Linens? Check. Next up: Pillows and duvets. Have you ever been to a big-box retailer to shop for these? I have. And maybe I threw an adult tantrum. It was simply too much pressure and there were simply too many options. Parachute streamlines this conundrum by basically offering two types of both — down and down alternative. I opted to try the Down Alternative Basic Bundle that scored me everything I needed in one shot (two standard pillows, one duvet insert). Let me say that these beauties are anything but basic. Lush and plush, they are comprised of a hypoallergenic microfiber filling encased in a shiny, silky sateen cotton shell that is almost pretty enough to stand on its own. (Continue reading to see why that’s not an option.) And you can customize your bedding, too. Regardless of whether you opt for down or down alternative, you can choose between soft, medium and firm pillows and either lightweight or all-season duvet (Read: Are you a hot sleeper or not?!).

Okay, now that we’ve got the necessities down, let’s focus on the duvet cover, shall we? This is the most fun part of the process! Personally, I want to feel like I’m diving into a five-star hotel bed every single night. I’m not a pattern girl when it comes to my covers. I’m a crisp, white-all-over-errythang girl. And ever since the Cloud Cotton Duvet Cover Set arrived at my house, I’m officially a Parachute girl for life. Seriously. I’ve never experienced a duvet so soft and fluffy. It’s almost like laying under a blanket of marshmallows. Combined with the down alternative insert, the duo is pure magic. More to know: It’s made of four-ply Turkish cotton (it’s thick!), has four ties to secure the insert in all four interior corners, and the shams have the aforementioned back envelope closure I adore. It’s bed bliss, people.

Below, I’ve made all of my picks shoppable. But if you’re feeling a different pattern, hue or material, fear not, you really can’t go wrong with any of the Parachute goods. Instead of spending torturous hours researching the best possible mattress, linens, pillows and duvets, how about you just listen to me, click "add to cart" and be on your way to that better sleep we're all chasing, mmmk?
