Joe Giudice Officially Files Appeal in Connection with Deportation Ruling
The RHONJ husband's legal team is "optimistic" about his future.
Joe Giudice has filed an appeal in connection with an October ruling in which a judge decided that The Real Housewives of New Jersey husband would be deported back to Italy following his prison term. He is currently in the midst of serving out 41 months in prison on mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud charges, a sentence which he began in March 2016 at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. In late 2017, Joe was transferred to FCI Allenwood in Pennsylvania.
"The appeal has been filed and we remain optimistic that Joe will soon be home with his family where he belongs. We are extremely grateful for Joe's immigration attorneys Jerry Gonzales and Tom Moseley and are very confident in them," attorney James Leonard Jr. told E! News in a statement. Page Six added it could take several months for an answer to be made on the appeal.
When Teresa Giudice appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last week, she revealed whether she and her family have considered what could happen next. "No, I haven't even discussed that. For real," she said in the Clubhouse. "We're just taking it one day at a time. I don't even want to think about that. Like, I don't want to put that out in the universe, so whatever happens."
Below, Teresa offers some more insight into their current family situation.
