The Best Activewear for Those of Us Who Aren’t a Size Zero (Meaning All of Us)

These fabulous designers deliver bright, gorgeous activewear that doesn’t ignore the 68 percent of us who work out in size 14 or above.

By Katherine Kluznik

Activewear should be easy to shop for — after all, it's casual, comfy, and simple to mix and match. Somehow, though, finding workout clothes that look as good as they feel is trickier than holding a 5-minute plank. This is especially perplexing as there are only two basic things a gym outfit needs to do:

No.1: It must look so gorgeous that it almost seems a shame to sweat it up (emphasis on 'almost').

No.2: It should fit so well you don’t even notice you’re wearing it. This means no riding up, no twisting around — nothing too tight, nothing too baggy.

Combine the two rules into one item, and you have the perfect motivator for strapping on your matching Fitbit and hitting the gym — because who wouldn’t want to show off your look when you're wearing an outfit this good?

And we're in luck this season thanks to all the designers who are playing by the rules and rolling out bright, gorgeous activewear that doesn’t ignore the 68% of us who work out in size 14 or above.

Ahead, cut-out leggings, statement tees, and kaleidoscopic sports bras that make hitting the gym more appealing than ever.
