WTF: Are People Seriously "Lip Shaming" Jessica Simpson?

Truth: It's tough to motivate for workouts in the wintertime, even if that means hitting the treadmill in our basement. So it's inspiring to see Jessica Simpson clocking 12,000 steps by taking daily walks in the actual great outdoors. And, we've also been inspired to see the amazing eyewear she sports along the way. 

In her latest selfie, the singer puckered up for the camera as she posed in glittery sunnies, and announced to fans that she was getting her daily steps. She added the hash tag #sandpapersmooch, which perhaps hints that Simpson is facing dry lips. It is, after all, wintertime. 

For the record, Simpson's pout looked perfectly smooth to us. But, Internet trolls seem to love ripping on the famously down-to-earth blonde. And somehow, haters found a way to introduce a new kind of body-shaming. We'll call this one "lip shaming." 

In the comments, some took it upon themselves to weigh in on the state of Simpson's lips. "It actually looks like all the injections have damaged her lip it looks as the circulation is damaged and cut off she needs to talk to her dr," said one Instagram user. (Nothing like unsolicited medical advice!) Cue disturbing visual images ahead — another user wrote: "her bottom lip is damaged for life I’m sure look at the separation looks like a butt now not a solid bottom lip." 

While trolls are welcome to their opinion, there were plenty of positive comments to outweigh the surly ones. Many fans congratulated the singer on her commitment to clocking her daily steps, while others raved over her pink-and-gold Gucci shades. And, one fan even waxed poetic about Simpson's smooch: "Your lips look like a butterfly," the user wrote.
