Wait, Did Prince Harry Tell Meghan Markle She Couldn't Wear a Tuxedo?
There's a rumor about the Duchess of Sussex's wardrobe for the newlyweds' big international tour.
Are Meghan Markle's power suit days over? We know that the former Suits actress and current Duchess of Sussex is right at home in borrowed-from-the-boys pieces — she turned to menswear-inspired looks like blazers, white-button-downs, and well, suits over and over for red carpet appearances during her career in Hollywood. But if this gossip from the Daily Mail is true, the newlywed might be spending more of her rumored $1 million clothing budget on skirts.
Reportedly, during discussions on Markle's wardrobe for an upcoming trip to Australia, Prince Harry discouraged her from wearing a Stella McCartney tuxedo suit, according to the Mail that is. "Meghan is being told she needs to stop dressing like a Hollywood star and start dressing like a Royal. Meghan wanted to wear a tuxedo-style suit but Harry said it wasn’t traditional enough," the Daily Mail's source from the fashion team said. Although, let's not forget that Princess Diana wore tuxedos to formal events more than once, and the husband-and-wife duo have already twinned in sharp suits this year.
We can't wait to see what Markle wears on her big tour of Australia this fall, tuxedo or no. One more thing we're wondering: will her well-traveled sister-in-law Kate Middleton share some royal packing tips?
