Dr.Contessa Metcalfe Opens Up About the Challenges of Her Kitchen Renovation
The Married to Medicine cast member detailed the frustrating process of updating the kitchen in her gorgeous Atlanta home.
On Married to Medicine's March 14 episode, Dr. Contessa Metcalfe explained how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the construction process of her and Dr. Scott Metcalfe's new office space. "When [COVID-19] hit, everything shut down," Contessa explained, before Scott added, "No permits, no licenses for at least six weeks." As it turns out, that was just one of the couple's major renovations impacted by the pandemic.
On the show's April 11 episode, Contessa opened up about how the pandemic was causing a delay in the process of updating her kitchen as well. "I've wanted to remodel this kitchen essentially since I bought the house," Contessa said in an interview. "This kitchen reflected the people we bought the house from and not me. Of course when COVID hit, everything stopped. No renovations happening."
In a separate moment during the episode, Contessa expressed her frustration about how much time the renovation was taking. "This is too long," she said. "Even with [the pandemic], this is way too long."
The kitchen upgrade was one of many sources of stress for Contessa at the time, she explained, "Between my kids just abruptly stopping school and being home 24/7, opening up this new practice, still working my new full time job, I am literally at my wits end." Later, she added, "Even if I want to be in control of everything, I'm not in control. But it makes me feel out of control."
While we wait to see the final result of Contessa's kitchen renovation, check out her gorgeous new office in the video above!
