Dr. Heavenly Threw Dr. Damon an Over-the-Top Backyard Party for His 50th Birthday
Married to Medicine's Dr. Heavenly Kimes celebrated her husband's special day with gorgeous decor, delicious food, and, yes, mermaids in their pool.
In July 2020, Dr. Heavenly Kimes threw an incredible backyard birthday party in honor of her husband Damon Kimes' 50th birthday. Finally, on Married to Medicine's Season 8 premiere on March 7, viewers got a full look at the over-the-top fete.
"I'm really excited," Heavenly said during the episode. "I mean, I've been quarantining my ass off and I want to make sure this is perfect. I've hired a chef. I've hired somebody to do the decorations. Only the best for daddy."
For the special evening, the couple's backyard was transformed with purple and gold balloons, stunning flowers, multiple fire pits, and purple lights illuminating the space. For an added touch, Heavenly also hired "mermaids" who spent the evening sitting on the edge of their resort-like pool.
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the outdoor space also featured plenty of signs with health and safety reminders including, "Wear a mask," "Social distance," "Stay out," and "You can eat but 6 ft!"
Of course, there was no shortage of incredible eats for the big event. While Toya Bush-Harris was a fan of the crab legs served in individual buckets, Heavenly revealed in July that guests were also treated to lobster tails and lamb chops, among other dishes. As she declared in an Instagram post at the time: "Dinner was amazingly delicious!"
