The Daily Dish Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

Fredrik Eklund & Josh Altman's First-Ever Co-Listing Is "Insane:" Tour the $28M Home

The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agents teamed up on their first co-listing together to sell a "tricked out" 13,500-square-foot house.

When Fredrik Eklund arrived at a listing appointment for a 13,500 square-foot home in the coveted Beverly Park neighborhood, he was ready to do anything to get the listing.

"I may not know every gated community all over California, but I do know Beverly Park," he said on the September 16 episode of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles. "These are 20, 30, 40, 50, 100 million dollar houses only for millionaires and big celebrities. I mean, if I get this listing, this would be humungous for my career."

Fredrik was prepared for the meeting with a listing price and what he anticipated client feedback would be about the home. One thing he didn't see coming, however, was a co-listing.

"You're number one in New York...Josh Altman is number one in L.A.," the seller's representative said. "I want you and Josh to be on the listing. Both of you."

Although Fredrik admitted it was "so frustrating to be pushed into a co-listing," he quickly came around to the idea. "I'm gonna do it because I am committed, actually I am obsessed, with becoming a top broker in L.A.," he explained. "And getting a listing and selling it in Beverly Park does just that." Later, he added, "I think we're gonna be a great team."

Although Josh was initially hesitant as well, he was also on board to team up with the MDLLA newcomer. "Fredrik and I, we've definitely had our differences in the past, so I was a little shocked when he called to co-list Beverly Park," he explained in an interview. "I see this as an olive branch from Fredrik."

With that, the duo got to work on finding a buyer for the $28.5 million abode, which Josh declared was "insane," "tricked out," and "one of the sickest houses you've ever seen." The neighborhood, he explained to Fredrik, is "the premier gated community in the entire planet."

Formal Library/Office & Unique Movie Theater

Fredrik was particularly impressed with the room's vintage European fireplace in the library, and found the theater to be very special as well. "In New York, they don't have movie theaters in their homes," he said. "It's like a little art deco." Later, Josh added that the room was "insane."

Spacious Kitchen & Gorgeous Dining Room

"Look at these chandeliers! Look at this wallpaper, Oh my god it's handmade," Fredrik said as he walked into the dining room. "I just think the furniture is so beautiful, so perfect." However, he had mixed feelings about the kitchen. "I like the layout, but it's a little specific," Fredrik said while looking at the custom orange island.

Chic Family Room

The room had a classic bar and hand-carved ceiling moldings that Fredrik declared "are just incredible."

Fancy Bedrooms

One of six bedrooms, the primary suite had a particularly appealing feature. "Oh my god," Fredrik said. "Look at that view." While Fredrik also noted the room's wallpaper was "very specific," Josh praised the "awesome setup" of the space.

Luxe Bathrooms

The primary suite's 1,200-square-foot bathroom (one of 11 bathrooms in the home) floored Fredrik. "It's one of the largest bathrooms I've seen," he said. The abundance of marble covering much of the room, including the large bathtub, led Josh to joke it was a "Scarface tub."

Dreamy Outdoor Space

The 2.2 acre lot included a spacious backyard and a beautiful pool area with a breathtaking view. "This is really indoor-outdoor living," Fredrik said.
