Heather Altman Reveals How She & Josh Transform Their House for the Holidays: "We Are Very Festive"
The MDLLA agent and her husband, Josh Altman, spill sweet details about how their family is celebrating Hanukkah and the holiday season this year.
When it comes to the holidays, Heather Altman and Josh Altman pull out all the stops. They fully embrace the holiday season with family traditions as well as home decor. Heather, it turns out, really showcases her love for this joyous time of the year when she decorates the fabulous home the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles couple shares along with their two kids, Ace and Lexi.
Heather and Josh recently spoke exclusively to BravoTV.com about how they fully embrace the holidays at home.
Heather Altman explains how she decorates her home for the holidays
"This is my favorite time of year. We are very festive. I've got 10-foot nutcrackers at my front door," Heather said in an exclusive phone interview earlier this month. "The holiday lights go up two weeks before Thanksgiving. We've got all of our trees up, but they're Hanukkah trees, of course. You know, I converted to Judaism. So, we do a lot of decor but it's all Hanukkah colors: blue and silver and champagne. And we really embrace the holidays. Josh, over the course of our relationship, has gone from a 2-foot tree to now having about 10 trees at our house."
Speaking of trees, Heather revealed if they are an artificial tree family or a real tree family. "We, we do a little bit of both. It depends on what's going on with our schedules and life. So, this year we've got some of our artificial [trees], but we are going to pick out a fresh tree because that's all Ace has been wishing for. this holiday season," she said. "He wants a real tree."
How Heather Altman and Josh Altman celebrate Hanukkah
Speaking to BravoTV.com on December 7, the Altmans also opened up about how they were marking the first day of Hanukkah this year. "Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, so I put together a couple of our close family friends and we're bringing in the first night of Hanukkah together and doing cookie decorating," she said. "And I found some fun things on Amazon, so we're painting little menorahs and they have dreidel ring pops now, which is so exciting. So, you know, kicking it off with a bunch of kids and having fun."
The adults will also mark the occasion in their own way. She added, "The moms are gonna drink a lot of wine."
Heather and Josh Altman reveal other holiday traditions
There are other sweet traditions the family also embraces this time of year. Heather noted that they recently "drove around and looked at all the houses and looked at all the lights and everything. And we got out and got ice cream and they wanna go do it again and go get hot cocoa another night. That's always fun to do with them."
Josh added, "Of course, in true real estate fashion, we drive around looking at the real estate with lights. That's what we like. Well, I think whatever houses have the best lights typically get the best purchase prices. Seriously the more festive and and into the holiday you are, the more money you make."
When it comes to their own home, Heather offered up a different reason for why it's so sparkly this time of year: "I told the kids, 'The more decorations we have up, the more magic comes to the house.' So, hence the amount of trees and all the decorations we put up."
