Ryan Serhant just sold Marc Jacobs' iconic New York City home — and did it just 24 hours after the property was put back on the market.
"Thank you for letting us sell your amazing West Village townhome" the Million Dollar Listing New York real estate broker wrote in a March 7 Instagram post, tagging the fashion designer. "In one day...68 Bethune. $12M."
According to the property's listing, the 4,796 square foot-townhouse boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and two powder rooms within its four stories. It also has its own elevator, two private outdoor spaces, two living rooms, and two kitchens. Additionally, the home has a finished basement with a laundry room.
Jacobs opened up about designing the home in an interview with Architectural Digest in 2017. “I’m not big on having a particular concept or look,” he said at the time. “I just want to live with things I genuinely love—great Art Deco furniture, pieces from the ’70s, and contemporary art. But I didn’t want the house to feel like a pristine gallery or a Deco stage set—just something smart, sharp, and comfortable.”
The listing photos show the classically-designed brick exterior of the building, with minimal but perfectly-manicured florals and greenery outside the front door.
Inside, a living area of the home is designed with neutral accents, including a cream-colored couch with curtains to match, a wood table, wood flooring, and a sizable wall mirror to open up the room even more. The room also boasts a chic fireplace and expansive outdoor patio.
Another space features the same white, brown, and gray tones while adding pops of color with flowers and plants throughout the room, which appears to be on the townhouse’s ground floor. Uniquely, the room currently has two full lounging setups just a few feet apart, each complete with a table, couch, and two chairs. Floor to ceiling windows give a view directly to one of the property’s two private outdoor spaces, which appears to be kept bare, save for lush greenery lining the exterior brick walls.
