Now that the romance between Senator Cory Booker and actress Rosario Dawson is public, it's heating up before our very eyes.
When Booker appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, he told DeGeneres that a paparazzo from TMZ "ambushed" her in the D.C. airport and asked about their relationship status, but he thinks she handled it really well.
"She was just wonderful and she's just an incredible human being," he gushed.
That's pretty much exactly what Dawson said in the airport.
"He's a wonderful human being and it's good to spend some time together when we can," she said. "I'm just grateful to be with someone I admire and love and respect so much and who is so brilliant and kind and caring and loving."
Her admission seems to have emboldened the senator, too.
"As our relationship grows it's difficult," he admitted, "but she is such a deeply soulful person [and] has taught me a lot of lessons about love already — that sometimes you show the greatest strength when you make yourself vulnerable... She really has this nurturing spirit that's made me more courageous, not just in the love that I project and want to see in our country, but I think even in our own personal relationships to love more fearlessly. So, I’m very, very blessed to be with somebody that makes me a better person."
Wow, Senator! This is all a pretty far cry from a few months ago, when all you would say was, "I got a boo."
He didn't shy away when DeGeneres asked about future marriage plans, even when DeGeneres said she'd like for them to wait until he potentially wins in 2020 so that they could have an American Royal Wedding, which she could officiate.
Hey, stranger things have happened.
