Jordyn Woods Felt "Bullied by the World" After Tristan Thompson Cheating Scandal
“I understood for the first time what it’s like being a black woman," Jordyn Woods told an audience in Nigeria.
Jordyn Woods was not only blamed by her former friend Khloe Kardashian for breaking up Khloe's family in the wake of an alleged cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson, she felt like she was blamed by everyone breathing.
“My little sister was bullied in school and I wanted to show her that I was bullied by the world,” Jordyn said during a panel discussion at Homecoming Festival in Nigeria, according to video clips published by Daily Mail (via PEOPLE).
The aftermath of the scandal gave Jordyn a fresh perspective on race in 2019.
“I understood for the first time what it’s like being a black woman — in a just society, how we can be so disrespected and nobody can really understand to that extent until you have lived it,” she said.
Jordyn's last public comments on the matter came in March during a "Red Table Talk" with her longtime family friend Jada Pinkett-Smith.
“I’m no homewrecker," she told Jada. "I would never try to hurt someone’s home, especially someone that I love and someone who has a beautiful daughter. I never would try to steal someone’s man, I don’t need your situation. I really just hurt so many more people by not telling the truth … When I was asked about what happened that night, I didn’t tell the truth to the people I loved. Not because of malicious intent but because I was just scared.”
