Mariah Carey and Her Former Personal Assistant Are Trading Nasty Lawsuits and the Details Are CRAZY
The singer is countersuing Lianna Shakhnazaryan, who alleges workplace abuse.
Mariah Carey has filed a lawsuit against a former personal assistant who has alleged in another lawsuit that she was abused in the workplace. BuzzFeed News reported that Mariah's lawsuit accuses Lianna Shakhnazaryan, who worked for Mariah in 2015 (for an annual salary of $328,500), of trying to blackmail her for $8 million in exchange for not releasing "personally embarrassing and professionally damaging videos" of Mariah. She wants a permanent restraining order and for all videos that Lianna filmed of her to be destroyed.
Lianna's suit accuses Mariah and her former manager of Stella Bulochnikov of sexual battery, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. Among the most shocking claims of Lianna's lawsuit, which seeks damages and lost wages, is that she alleges that Stella pushed her to the ground, held her down and peed on her on multiple occasions. Lianna also alleges that Mariah was aware of what was happening and joined in on both mental and physical attacks.
Mariah's reps released a statement to BuzzFeed News saying that 2019 "welcomes Mariah's continued efforts to clean the trash from her life."
