What would Princess Diana do? It's a question that apparently looms large in the parenting decisions of her son Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, in many given situations.

“Diana was such a wonderful mother. William and Kate are doing their best to take after her when it comes to raising George, Charlotte and Louis. They’re determined to give their kids a normal life, just like Diana did," a royal anonymous source explained to Us Weekly. “If the kids misbehave, William often thinks to himself, ‘What would my mom have done in this situation?’"

Prince William and Middleton keep his mother's memory alive to their children, who are told that she's "watching over them from heaven."

“George and Charlotte know all about their late grandmother and what an amazing woman she was," the source said.

Though Princes William and Prince Harry were very young when Princess Diana tragically passed away, they have the best memories of her as a cool mum.

"She was really informal and really enjoyed laughter and the fun," said Prince William in the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.

"She was one of the naughtiest parents," echoed Prince Harry, meaning she was never too serious.

"But she understood that there was life outside of palace walls," finished Prince William.
