Thomas Markle Slams His “Hypocritical” Daughter Meghan Markle Alongside Another Plea to Meet Baby Archie
“I’ve stayed quiet because Meghan was pregnant with Archie but I’m speaking out now because they and their PR people are continuing to ghost me out of her life," Thomas Markle said.
Thomas Markle shared a lot of his character with the world in the prelude to and the wake of his estranged daughter Meghan Markle not inviting him to her wedding to Prince Harry or the christening of their baby, Archie.
Markle has given several paid interviews to British tabloids as a futile means of trying to communicate with the woman now known as Duchess Meghan of Sussex, even bringing up his past as an altar boy after not receiving an invitation to Archie's baptism. Now, he's doubling down on his desire to reconcile with his daughter and meet the royal baby, but his critical approach may seal their permanent estrangement.
In an interview with Mail on Sunday, Markle wondered if Archie's "got the famous Markle nose" and wants his daughter and her husband to send a picture of the baby to him. He didn't hear from the Duchess after his heart attack right before the royal wedding last May landed him in the hospital — “never once has Meghan ever asked me how I’m doing. Not then, not since,” he revealed. He also doesn't know if a card he sent to her financial adviser in Los Angeles was ever received.
He claims that any family strife is recent, and that he could be saying a whole lot more than he has been saying.
“I’ve stayed quiet because Meghan was pregnant with Archie but I’m speaking out now because they and their PR people are continuing to ghost me out of her life," he said. "Of course, I’m disappointed not to see Archie. I had hoped becoming a mother would mellow Meghan and she would reach out.”
He's no longer staying quiet about how he feels like he's been totally shut out.
“Everyone raves about how gracious and wonderful they are, but they are not wonderful to their own family. That’s hypocritical,” he claimed. “You can’t portray yourself as being charitable and bringing people together and then ghost your own father and your entire family. Their treatment of me has left a lot to be desired.”
Still, he holds a flicker of hope that they can one day be a happy family.
“I believe all family differences can be resolved and I believe that can still happen for me, Meghan and Harry,” he wished. “I always hoped I would be as close to Meghan’s child as I was to her when she was a child.”
Luckily, Archie does have a doting grandmother, Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, in his life, as well as some hopefully awesome mystery godparents.
