Why Travis Scott's Bold Contribution for Women's Rights in Alabama Matters
Kylie Jenner's beau put his heart behind his gift to Planned Parenthood.
Travis Scott is using his popularity to make a stand against Alabama's controversial new abortion law, which makes it a felony for doctors to perform abortions at any stage in the state.
“We feel for those out in Alabama. I love y’all,” he told the crowd at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores over the weekend. Footage was captured and posted to Twitter by a fan in the audience. “I just wanted you to know that love is the strongest feeling we have and love is the only thing we can build on.”
The rapper shared that he would donate all the proceeds from merchandise sold at that festival to Alabama's Planned Parenthood. Kylie then shared Travis' gift with her sizable social media following, which is drawing even more awareness to the cause.
“Travis Scott is donating all his merch profits from Hangout Fest 2019 to Planned Parenthood organizations in support of women in Alabama,” she wrote.
Thankfully, this couple is choosing channel their immense influence toward shining light on substantive causes that move them to act.
Abortion is still legal in Alabama.
