After nearly three decades with her husband, Kevin Hunter, the talk-show host is moving on — shortly after his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, reportedly gave birth to a child.

Wendy Williams Filed for Divorce from Kevin Hunter

Hearing about a divorce is almost always sad. But in the case of Wendy Williams — who's reportedly just served divorce papers to her husband of 25 years, Kevin Hunter — a separation might be a positive way to cut ties with the past and start a new beginning. We're not pointing fingers here and we're sure there is lots of love lost in the demise of this relationship. Two and a half decades is a long time!

But let's just say, all signs were pointing to Williams being downright unhappy in her current situation. Let's review her past few months:

After bravely coming clean about her cocaine addiction while filming The Wendy Williams Show, Williams also confessed that she'd been living in a sober house. Though she received tons of support for her candid admission, the news that came next was disheartening:  After checking herself out of the sober house, Williams apparently had a relapse with her alcohol addiction, and was rushed to the hospital.

And while this was all happening, there was some stuff going on with Hunter that possibly could have led to Williams' apparent emotional breakdown: Just a few weeks ago, his alleged longtime mistress Sharina Hudson gave birth to his (again, alleged) baby girl.

In light of all this, Williams and Hunter worked to present a united front. In March, she assured her fans on air that her marriage was solid, pointing out: "I'm still wearing my ring." Still, rumors of an impending separation continued to swirl, and Williams was not wearing a ring on the April 11 filming of her show (this is the same day that the divorce news broke, with TMZ reporting that he was served the papers at the studio itself).

“The baby was it, and he kept lying about it until the very end,” a source told ET. “Wendy is done. She should have been done a long time ago but she tried to make it work. They went to counseling but Kevin [Hunter] just kept lying to her.”

One thing's for sure: We're rooting for Williams to be happy.
