Ashlee: Embrace Your Age!

Ashlee White explains why turning 30 was so significant for her.

By Ashlee White

Welcome to Week 4 of my blog! Thank you for reading, and thank you for tuning into the show each week! I’ve been overwhelmed by all of the outpouring of love I’ve received and am enjoying meeting and connecting with so many of my fans.

Before I talk about the birthday party and all the other fun in this episode I have to give a big shout out to my amazing sister and makeup artist, Amber White, who did my makeup in this episode! Contact her for your makeup -- she’s a creative genius. Follow her @amberbryn and contact her: makeup_amberwhite@yahoo.com!

What do I have in common with Billy Joel, Mariah Carey, and P. Diddy?  We all use celeb caterer and party planner Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs (@elegantaffairs1)! She was the mastermind behind my 30th birthday bash at Sugar Dining Den & Social Club in Carle Place (follow @brianrosenbergg). Everything about it was completely and amazingly over the top, from the décor by Andrew Zucher and the cake by Sami Cakes. Check out my Facebook Page for a photo of the cake that Sami Cakes made me -- ncredible! I was celebrating turning 30, but it was also about a celebration of life. It had been a year since my stroke, and so it was an occasion that was so special for my family and me. I feel like I lost everything when my health came crashing down, but my family stood by me and ultimately pulled me through. So, we couldn’t wait to celebrate!

When the girls and I set out on our little adventure to camp, which truly turned out to be an adventure, I’m just out to have a good time on a girls’ weekend. I’m thinking, Jewish camp? Why not?! It’s the best feeling when you’re with your girlfriends and can’t stop laughing. I had the best time with the girls on the way to camp. Obviously things didn’t go exactly as planned, but I ended up having a blast anyway. I’m skeptical at first, but I decide to take Joey’s lead -- maybe all the single guys from the camp are at this bar, hence asking if everyone was Jewish. Well, I guess the Jewish single men ended up at a different bar. It didn’t matter, though, because Chanel made the night. She was totally the life of the party, and I really enjoyed myself. What is it with these bed stains following me?! I love how close Casey and I are getting that she just dies laughing and doesn’t judge me at all. Hearing her laugh and seeing it still makes me crack up.

I really respect Amanda’s attitude when it comes to having a girls' night and leaving her boyfriend at home. She shows everyone that going out with your girls doesn’t and shouldn’t mean forgetting about your loyalty to your boyfriend. I take loyalty very seriously and appreciate how Amanda acted while Jeff wasn’t with her.

Well, that’s all for now. Make sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram (especially now that I can post videos!) @ashleewhite23. And like my fan page for even more photos.
