How to Get a Gorgeous, Glowing Makeup Look That's Runway-Approved
Maybelline New York lead makeup artist Vincent Oquendo explains how to achieve the dewy makeup looks as seen on the models of Bravo's Project Runway.
It's no secret that Bravo's Project Runway serves up incredible beauty looks that continually complement the iconic fashion moments, and this week's Viewer’s Verdict, presented by Maybelline, provided beauty enthusiasts with 12 next-level makeup styles that featured the most striking details. While all the looks were stunning in their own ways, there was one duo that stole the votes. Anna Yinan Zhou and Bones Jones' makeup reigned supreme with both of their models flaunting the prettiest dewy finish.
To complement the pair's silver, sparkling outfits, Anna and Bones' models sported bold brows, natural lips, rosy cheeks, and glass-skin finishes that made them glow. Anna's model could be seen wearing the prettiest silver eyeshadow that enhanced her rose-colored cheeks, courtesy of Maybelline New York Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush. As for Bones' beauty look, his model's flawless foundation was accentuated by Maybelline New York Glass Skin Spray, which resulted in the most effortless glow. Below, Maybelline New York lead makeup artist Vincent Oquendo dishes on everything you need to know about recreating the two beautiful makeup looks for yourself.
Anna's Makeup Look
Step 1: To achieve Anna's model's makeup, apply Maybelline New York Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation with a wet sponge to skin to get a sheer, lightweight coverage. Then, put Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Concealer under eyes to brighten them up.
Step 2: Use Maybelline New York ColorTattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Front Runner as a base for eyelids. Then, apply the Maybelline New York ColorTattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Socialite to the crease of each lid to create an eye-catching shimmering finish. To make the eyes really pop, draw a light line with the Maybelline New York Sharpenable Gel Pencil in Polished White to the inner waterline of the eyes.
Step 3: Next, apply Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara in Very Black to the base of lashes. Be sure to leave the top bare — this will help to create definition at the root.
Step 4: Once the mascara has been applied, it's time for the face! Apply a dusting of the Maybelline New York Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold and Rose Gold to the top of the cheekbones as well as in the inner corner of the eyes, the bow of lips, and top of the nose. This will help to define and illuminate all areas. Use the Maybelline New York City Bronzer in 100 to sculpt cheekbones and add definition. To create the same rosy finish as Anna's model, apply a layer of Maybelline New York Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush in Fuchsia Spark and Berry Flame to cheekbones.
Step 5: Give lips a natural glow by adding Maybelline New York Lifter Gloss in Opal.
Step 6: To lock in the look, apply a couple of spritzes of Maybelline New York Glass Skin Spray to give skin a dewy, hydrated, and overall glassy finish.
Bones' Makeup Look
Step 1: To achieve Bones' model's makeup, apply a pea-size amount of Maybelline New York Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation onto skin with a wet sponge. This will result in sheer, lightweight coverage. Add more foundation to create fuller coverage if desired.
Step 2: To create definition, apply a subtle amount of Maybelline New York ColorTattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Socialite to the crease of each eyelid.
Step 3: To complete the look, use Maybelline New York Glass Skin Spray to give skin a dewy finish.
