Christian Siriano Designed Lili Reinhart's Breathtaking Floral Gown at the 2021 Met Gala
The Project Runway mentor opened up about the inspiration behind the ethereal look and its connection to all 50 states.
Lili Reinhart was looked like a walking garden — in the best possible way — at the 2021 Met Gala. The Riverdale actress wore a custom look from Project Runway mentor Christian Siriano, and the blooming gown tied gorgeously into the evening's theme. (Season 19 of Project Runway premieres October 14 at 9/8c!)
The hotly anticipated ball was titled "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion." As such, Reinhart's sheer pink corset dress was covered in flower appliqués that represented the state flowers from all 50 states.
Decking the long, flowing train on the actress' dress, the silky decorations were breathtaking. In her Instagram Stories, Reinhart shared a close-up peek at the floral fabulousness. And on his feed, Christian wrote: "50 States proud! Celebrating American Fashion and flowers tonight!"
For her beauty look, Reinhart wore a sleek, straight coif from hairstylist David Stanwell, who used products by Authentic Beauty Concept. “I was inspired by the floral, ethereal nature of her dress and decided to keep her hair soft and sleek to match,” the stylist said in a press release.
