Thursday Funday
Andy Cohen previews tonight's Watch What Happens Live.
I'm gearing up for another whopper in the Clubhouse! Tonight we close out the RHNYC Moroccan trilogy with the Countess LuAnn and SNL alum Ana Gasteyer. There are many moments of hilarity in tonight's episode, and we have some great stuff planned for WWHL.
Maybe you heard the news that I'm co-hosting the Miss USA pageant with Guiliana Rancic from E! on NBC June 19th live from Las Vegas. That's gonna be FUN! I'm looking forward to it; I hear she's great fun.
Did you cry at the Top Chef Masters episode last night? I did. I am an easy crier. Floyd and that coin? Forget it....
Speaking of servicemen, yesterday I went to a benefit thrown by MSNBC's Willie Geist for Operation Mend, which is an organization based out of UCLA that treats U.S. Military personnel wounded during service in Iraq and Afghanistan. What they really do is some serious reconstructive surgery to help these men and women look like human beings again after devastating wounds have changed their bodies and features. In many cases, they quite simply give people their dignity back. I met a few of the men and women who'd been treated and was overwhelmed by their spirit. And very, very touched.
And so needless to say I'm writing a big check to Operation Mend this morning. They are doing good work.
Last night I saw Sandra Bernhard at Town Hall, and though I've probably seen the lady over 25 times, she served it fresh and hot and truthful to a SRO crowd of adoring New Yorkers. She is always up to the minute, with a new way of looking at the things that surround us every day. She had special guests Justin V Bond, Rufus Wainwright, and Liza Minnelli but she was always the star onstage.
After the show we had a late meal at Joe Allen with the post-theater kids and that's always a cozy treat. Speaking of cozy treats, I'll see you in the Clubhouse tonight!
