Pregnant Mercedes Javid Addresses Fans' Questions About Why She Isn’t “Showing”

While we were admiring Mercedes "MJ" Javid's super festive (and affordable) two-piece holiday look, MJ was busy answering questions about her maternity style and then some. The Shahs of Sunset mom-to-be just hopped on Instagram Live and did a little "ask me anything" session with viewers, getting super candid and answering all sorts of questions — including some that were "super shady," MJ joked. 

Yep, MJ's holiday party outfit wasn't the only thing that fans on the Instagram video wanted to know about. The pregnant Pablo's Paws dog collar designer addressed some viewers who were asking about her baby bump. 

"My due date is on May 11 and people are saying 'Why aren't I showing, why I aren't I showing?' I think that it's a combination of two things: the first thing is that people don't always show when they're only 19 weeks, which is where I'm at. Number two: I'm not stick thin," she said on Instagram Live. "I think that from the side I'm definitely thicker and that I'm getting there, but I don't think that people always show that early."

MJ went on to share that so far, she's just been sizing up in stretchy jeans and she thanked her followers for their maternity style recommendations. Then she noticed a rude commenter and totally took the high road — while sharing the inspiring body positive philosophy that she lives by: "Someone just tried to fat shame me — as if," MJ told viewers. "On that note, I just want you guys to know that if anyone is going to try to body shame me or do anything to me, do it to me because I can handle it and I'll make you guys stronger by showing you how it doesn't matter."
