Mercedes "MJ" Javid Tried Red Light Therapy that Supposedly "Melts Fat"
The Shahs of Sunset mom says the non-surgical body contouring process is "the easiest thing you can ever do."
Mercedes "MJ" Javid spent part of her day yesterday bathed in red light, all in the name of toning up. Ahead of season 8 of Shahs of Sunset, which is set to premiere on February 9, this new mom stopped by Body Contourz med spa in Studio City, California to kick off a series of non-surgical body contouring sessions.
"I'm sitting under a red lamp and this red light therapy helps you target the areas that you want to slim down. I think it melts fat, in fact," MJ said in a video on Instagram Stories yesterday, February 6. "I'm going to do a total of six sessions and you really do get results."
According to Body Contourz's website, this is called UltraSlim light therapy treatment, with light positioned several inches above the treatment area. UltraSlim claims this light is used to "stimulate and shrink fat cells."
"After the red light therapy, we do vibration plate (10 minutes)," MJ explained after her light treatment.
In case you were wondering, this treatment sounds like it's pretty chill.
"It's the easiest thing you can ever do. Literally I have to sit and relax for eight minutes," MJ said in her video. "It's very relaxing and it's fun."
