Mercedes "MJ" Javid Shares Her Super Simple Quarantine Hair & Skincare Routine
"Thirty seconds, either at the sink or in the shower, boom," said the Shahs of Sunset mom.
As we all continue to stay at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), it can be easy to slip into a pattern of ditching your regular routine. In a video for BravoTV.com, which you can watch above, Mercedes “MJ” Javid breaks down her simple hair and skincare routine. The Shahs of Sunset cast member is proof that you can maintain flawless hair and skin during self-quarantine.
“I’m going to share with you the top, most important things that elevate my spirit, and therefore I can contribute that way in a positive way to my household, my family, my son, and of course, our wellness,” she explained.
MJ wears tape-in hair extensions, which require an extra step in her routine, but she’s found a way to take care of them efficiently. She begins by spritzing her hair with a simple water bottle and brushing her hair out. Then, she uses a Drybar detangler to add some UV protection and biotin.
“When I walk my dogs and my babies and myself, my hair is protected,” she explained. “And as you can see, it’s shinier, and it really, really keeps my hair together.”
When it comes to skincare, MJ swears by an exfoliating pad she ordered from Amazon. She uses it to scrub her face with a gentle foaming cleanser.
“It works really well, and it makes my skin feel super fresh and clean. When I scrub with this, my chapped lips go away because I’ve exfoliated my lips. I also have another problem area, which is my eyebrows,” MJ explained. “Thirty seconds, either at the sink or in the shower, boom. Smooth, kissable, done.”
Next, MJ uses a lightweight SPF revitalizing moisturizer to protect her skin when she’s outside with her son or dogs, or trying to exercise. Finally, she keeps a pocket-sized hand sanitizer with her wherever she goes.
“You’ll be hearing more from me, because we are going to stay home with Bravo and entertain each other and laugh together, and get through this together, and find the silver lining in this insane pandemic,” said MJ.
