Cameran Eubanks Showed Us How to Celebrate a Family Pet's Birthday When It's Complicated
Elvis the Dog just celebrated his sweet 16, and his blended family came together.
As anyone with a "fur baby" knows, pets are a true part of the family. Thus, when a certain four-legged creature celebrates a big birthday, it's only fitting to mark the occasion with cake and a little bash (balloons are also welcome). Wouldn't anyone else in the family get the same treatment?
So, when Cameran Eubanks' neighbor's dog — otherwise known as Elvis the Dog — celebrated his 16th birthday, his whole family came together. And that includes his real family (we'd say biological, but...) and his adopted family. Watch and learn, as this special pooch had a celebration that demonstrates how blended families can and should unite when it's time for a loved one to blow (bark?) out some candles.
In an April 2 Instagram post, the Southern Charm mama shared a photo of herself, daughter Palmer, and hubby Jason Wimberly. And on the left? That's Elvis, with his "rightful owner," neighbor Chase. The photo also featured a festive white cake, with the letters 1 and 6 on top of it. Thats's right: Elvis is officially "112 in dog years."
In her caption, Cameran wrote: "Celebrating Elvis’s Sweet 16th Birthday (112 in dog years.) This is Elvis’s rightful owner, Chase who is home on post deployment leave from the Army." She added that Patricia Altschul had given her daughter a bib with "Elvis's mug on it to celebrate the grand occasion," and you can see Palmer sporting the birthday fashion in the second photo below:
Everyone's together, everyone's smiling, and there's a cake. Take note, blended families everywhere!
